Overview
Workspace Journal is a feature within Workspace, a project management platform built around the Shape Up methodology. Journal is a private work log where users write natural language updates about what they're working on. Workspace analyzes each entry against the current project's documents, tasks, and scopes, then surfaces recommendations for new tasks, scopes, and documents that don't already exist. Each recommendation can be created with a single click. If a suggested task belongs to an existing scope, Workspace automatically recommends placing it there. A core design principle drives the feature: scopes are public to the team building the project, while tasks remain private to the individual. The team gets visibility into the shape of the work. The individual stays focused on execution without noise.
